We played our annual Mahony/Byrne cup on St.Stephen's morning and it was a great success.
Our Mahony/Byrne cup is an annual event to remember Kevin O'Mahony and Tony Byrnes.
Team Byrnesy ultimately won out 3-2 to retain the cup in front of a great crowd.
The rain held off and the 40+'s produced some lovely football with a couple of cracking goals from Robbie Brosnan and Mark Daly.
The trophy was presented by Trish O'Mahony and Grace Byrne to winning captain Ken O'Neill.
This year our charity was the Rebel Wheelers and we will have a figure of how much was raised soon.
Big thanks to the Kelly's Pat, Alan and Graeme for officiating and big thanks to Ernest O'Mahony for managing team Molly and Pat Quirke and Jim Monaher for managing team Brynesy.
Big thanks also to Ray O'Mahony for all the work done to pull everything together on the day.
We look forward to doing it all again next year...
