Our Senior team defeated Carriagline 3-2 last Friday night, after extra-time, to progress to the second round of the Munster Senior Cup. 

Mayfield took the lead early on through a goal from Darragh Hurley. However, we were pegged back minutes later by a resilient Carrigaline side. 

Shortly after half-time, Carrigaline took the lead but this was quickly answered back with a goal from Nathan Gumbo to draw the teams level at 2-2 after 90 minutes. 

Therefore, extra-time was needed to split the two sides on the night. 

In the first half of extra-time, Mayfield took the lead and secured passage to the next round of the cup with a goal from Kieran Mills.
